I love capturing couples in motion, and DC has so many incredible steps and walkways to do just that.

The time of day we chose to meet allowed for the most delicious light!

I love traveling to Washington DC for engagement sessions (or family sessions! or anniversary sessions!). It is such a singular location, there is truly no other city like it.

These images are so classic to me – I can see Sarah and Dave showing them to their children and grandchildren someday.

The light was so gorgeous and dramatic – I loved capturing so much of this classic architecture during our session.

Meet Kirwin!

Of course Sarah and Dave had to include the newest member of their family – Kirwan!

Kirwan knew it was his time to shine!

After the memorial, we headed down toward the wharf – the neighborhood where Sarah + Dave lived together while in DC.

Kirwan was very comfortable taking the lead with his mom and dad!

We of course had to visit Kirwan’s namesake – Sarah and Dave’s favorite pub!

This looks like it could be Washington DC or it could be London, England!

We always have to get some photos by the water!

The simplest photos are the absolute best.

I love earth tones Sarah and Dave chose for their outfits – it photographed so well with the colors of the city.
