Angela and Robert’s rustic bohemian wedding at Normandy Farm Grand Garden was everything that the couple imagined for their special day. The location was a perfect combination of rustic and elegant, and the modern theme was enhanced by touches of eucalyptus, evergreen, ivory, and gold accents showcased in everything from the decor to the bride’s floral arrangements done by Willow & Thistle.
Before their outdoor ceremony even started, the couple’s unique touches began to shine through. Angela and Robert decided to read their personal vows to each other without an audience. So before their first look, they stood back-to-back and privately read their vows. This led to one of the most important moments Angela wanted captured, the first looks with both her dad and her soon-to-be husband. Their reactions and strong emotions were perfectly expressed through the photos, letting Angela relive the moment over and over again!
Angela and Robert’s portraits were taken on the Normandy Farm property, and the concrete and brick backgrounds gave the perfect rustic touch that the bride was looking for. Because I had already had an engagement shoot with the couple prior to their wedding day, they were already naturals in front of the camera. If you’re nervous about being in front of the camera on your big day, doing an engagement session beforehand is a great way to ease into things and learn what makes you the most comfortable!
The day ended with a farm-inspired reception that included a first dance to the song Hard to Concentrate by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Angela first chose this song for her first dance all the way back in 2006, and luckily, Robert also fell in love with the song the first time he heard it! It may not be a traditional first dance choice, but the lyrics spoke to the couple with the lines,
“All I want is for you to be happy
And, take this woman and make you my family
And, finally, you have found someone perfect
And, finally, you have found
The photos I chose not only showcase the theme of Angela and Robert’s wedding but also the special moments that the couple wants to remember forever. What do you guys think?
